MUMBAI: Reliance Big Entertainment,
the media and entertainment arm of the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG), has
acquired a majority stake in US-based Willow TV, the world's largest portal for
live internet streaming of major cricketing action. No other financial details
were disclosed.
Speaking to TOI, Rajesh Sawhney, president, Reliance
Big, said the company will spend up to Rs 300 crore over the two years on this
portal. This amount includes the money that ADAG will pay for acquisition and
also the future spending for the portal to foray into related areas.
Reliance Entertainment plans to extend Willow TV's reach beyond the
net to mobile and TV.
