drenched the state with several areas reporting good rain on Sunday. The city
recorded 19mm of rain, bringing down the temperature to 33 degree celsius. (

Once
the rain stopped, a number of people thronged to the Central Park, enjoying
their favourite street food. The cool breeze added to the park's pristine and
lush green ambience. This change in the weather condition has given a fresh
lease of life to the city.
Sunday's downpour delighted the citizens,
young and old alike. It also brought them out of the confines of their homes. "I
went to the park to get a feel of this much awaited rain and drenched myself
completely. The previous week was very hot and humid and this break in monsoon
had adversely affected everyone's efficiency," said ManoharLal, an enthusiastic
senior citizen from Tonk Road.
Civic agencies' work to fill the pot
holes on roads has been undone after this spell of rains but so far, no effort
has been made to level them again.
According to the regional Met
office Ajmer, Chittorgarh and Churu reported 36mm, 14mm and 16mm of rain,
respectively. Banswara district, Garhi, Bhungra and Kesharpura also reported
some rain on Saturday.
The weather department forecasts an upper air
cyclonic circulation or feeble low pressure area to form over northwest and
adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal that is likely to move westwards.
This might increase rainfall over north peninsula and adjoining
central part of the country.
